MOLSON M

Executive #1: “We need people to drink more of our crappy beer.”

Executive #2: “How about we take Molson Canadian and put less carbonation in it, making it less filling and therefore people will drink more.”

Executive #1: “Executive #2, you’re a genius, here’s any extra $100,00 on your pay.”

RICKARD’S INDIA PALE ALE

NOTES: If the bar I ordered this at actually had Alexander Keith’s India Pale Ale on tap I would have sworn that’s what they poured me. Just like Keith’s, this Rickard’s IPA is an insult to the IPA name. Let’s just call this what it is, a macro-ale. Was yellow with a small highly carbonated head that disappeared quickly however carbon bubbles were seen raising from the bottle of the glass the entire time. No smell. Shouldn’t an IPA smell of hops? And no taste. No hop taste whatsoever! Just a plain boring flavourless beer. A bit sweet if anything.

MOLSON CANADIAN 67

NOTES: Look, if you’re concerned with calories, maybe you shouldn’t be drinking beer in the first place. And it would seem Molson’s agrees with me, since their new Canadian 67 is anything but a beer. It pours to a light piss colour, has a slightly piss smell and tastes like Perrier flavoured piss. I don’t know how many calories my actual piss might have, but I’m willing to bet it’s at least more flavourful than this.

MOLSON DRY

BA: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/433/7305
RB: http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/molson-dry/241/

NOTES: Sometimes you gotta slum it and review a macro beer. I went up to a cottage this past weekend and one of these was in the fridge, so I thought “why not?”. Pours to a pale light yellow with a carbonated white head that disappeared quickly. Very faint smell of sweet grain, maybe corn. Taste was light and crisp with a bit of sweetness. Some metallic as well. Slightly acidic. Very watery. Overall for a macro it’s not too horrible. Might be one of Molson’s best, sad as that is.
